airport express wireless problem

Postby ethan 79' » Mon Nov 05, 2012 9:49 pm

Hello so I have a FI8918W. I can view it local and via webrowser so no issues there. The only thing I cannot do is disconnect the ethernet cable. It seems to absolutely need the ethernet cable regardless of how many times I reboot, reset, turn off wait 10 seconds and blah blah blah...

I just viewed the new MJPEG setup video and the guy doing the setup is actually using the exact set up I have (airport express modem). The problem I have is at approx. 8:15 minutes into the 8:15 where he says "Take the ethernet cable out and the two lights should change then blink". Mine just turn off. The only problem I can find is that when I set up the wireless lan settings and scan then prefill my network, the camera refuses to take the case sensative SSID in its full name. I fill it manually and I prefill it and it still cuts it off half way. Any thoughts?

If you think that the SSID is the cause, are you open to changing the SSID, if not simply for testing?
