cleaning dome on FI8919W

Postby bclarke01 » Mon Mar 17, 2014 12:12 am

The camera is installed near the seashore and appears to have built-up a film on the inside of the dome. This doesn't affect the daytime views too much but is blocking the IR views after dark.

Any advice on disassembling the dome and cleaning it?

Also, the WIFI range on this camera seems to about 25 feet. Any suggestions on getting the range back into the "normal" WIFI range?

try to add more light source. IR light or visible light. You probably do not have enough light, then the fi8919 ir reflect to the plastic bulb.

I got this problem and have fixed it by adding more light source.

Adding more light may be a good thing to do but in my case it is not an option and the reflection of the IR from inside the dome is really bad mostly when the camera is fully tilted up see picture attached.
I too looked inside my brand new camera and noticed a film inside the dome and wonder why brand new cameras have such a film poor quality control or are components or materials gassing and condensing on the inside of the dome?

You can clean the outside cover of the dome.

It isn't supposed to have any film inside the dome.
If it does have, you can contact your camera your retailer. You'd better also take a photo of the dome with the film.

Thanks, I am RMA'ing the camera back due to defect the Tech stated that the reflection I am getting is not normal it primarily occurs when the camera is at the full tilted up position where with my install it needs to be.
