F18190w FTP issue - can't connect

Postby bobbee25 » Sat Oct 13, 2012 3:33 pm

I have a nas ftp server on my network.
I can access the camera from a wireless laptop using its ip address.
I can access the ftp server directory using its ip address fro my laptop.

I can' seem to access the ftp server from the camera. I have port forwarding set on the router.

I feel like I have tried every combination of possibilities in the cameras ftp setup screen.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

One other question, I assume that the camera will record a video using the motion detector, not just an image ?

Have you tried the FTP test using the Standard Camera Interace? If so, what is the response for the test?

You can record video on alarms or during non-alarm periods, but you will need to do that by having a running Standard Camera Interface in a IE ("Internet Browser") window.

I have tried many different settings from the camera interface.
Some have sent a can't connect to the server message other times I was able to get a "wrong id or password"
The password is definitely correct.

Please try this using ANY browser besides a Chrome based browser. When prompted to logon, you will need to use a Admin Level User Id and password:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx = Local IP address or DDNS
#### = Port for the camera

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:####/get_params.cgi

This will return your camera configuration settings.

Can you replace anything you don't want public with an "x" and post the values for these here?:

ftp_svr
ftp_port
ftp_user
ftp_pwd
var ftp_dir
var ftp_mode

Your settings should be something like this, assuming, that the logon name is going directly to the FTP directory:

var ftp_svr='ftp.mydomain.com';
var ftp_port=21;
var ftp_user='user@mydomain.com';
var ftp_pwd='password';
var ftp_dir='';
var ftp_mode=0;

Do you have access to the logs on the FTP server to see what possibly maybe going on there? If not, can you ask someone there to give you any insight as to why you are having this issue?

If I enter http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:####/get_params.cgi with my values, firefox states "can't establish connection to server"

If I leave off the port then the camera logon screen comes up.

If I just omit the port then the log is pretty much o's and "" except fot the top:

var id='000DC5DA253A';
var sys_ver='11.37.2.46';
var app_ver='2.4.10.2';
var alias='';
var now=1350222611;
var tz=0;
var daylight_saving_time=0;
var ntp_enable=1;
var ntp_svr='time.nist.gov';
var user1_name='admin';
var user1_pwd='';
var user1_pri=2;
var user2_name='bobbee';
var user2_pwd='';
var user2_pri=0;
var user3_name='';
var user3_pwd='';
var user3_pri=0;

Note in the router the start and end port for the camera is set to 88

Could you please post the values that I suggest here. Any of the other values ("That you have posted") are not helpful in trying to resolve this issue:

Also, you are not answering my questions in my prior posts, which complicates me trying to help you because of that.

"Do you have access to the logs on the FTP server to see what possibly maybe going on there? If not, can you ask someone there to give you any insight as to why you are having this issue?"
