F18918W Color Issue
I purchased a F18918W a couple of weeks ago and it appeared to be missing green. Reds and blues show fine. As a result the video appeared to be really washed out. Trees like like they have snow on them instead of leaves. I returned it and ordered another one and it has the same problem? Is there any way to adjust this or is it defective? See screenshot.

Re: F18918W Color Issue
The cameras lack an IR corrected lens, because of this, they allow in all IR light instead of just the light that the LED's will be producing. This causes the picture to be washed out since the sun puts out a lot of IR light.

Re: F18918W Color Issue
Does anyone know if there is a compatible corrected IR lens available for purchase to fix this problem for the F918W?

Is there a way to adjust for that? I only see brightness and contrast. Maybe a secret gamma correction?

nope no way to adjust for it other than getting a ir corrected lens.
The 8905 uses a cs mount lens http://cgi.ebay.com/4mm-Fixed-Iris-Lens ... 5882744d2b
I will see if I can get info on the exact lens mount used in the 8918

Re: F18918W Color Issue
I searched around and was unable to find any ir corrected lenses that were for anything smaller than a cs mount lens
the lenses used by the 8918 and 8904 are these
http://cgi.ebay.com/MTV-3-6MM-CCTV-IR-L ... 41518339af
I was wondering, does anyone here have a DSLR ir filter that attackes over the lens, if so can they test it out on the camera. if it works then it may be possible to stick one in front of the camera

Re: F18918W Color Issue
can anyone confirm that this lens will work in a 905
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380145782059
it will probably months before foscam fixes the software for the colour issue

Re: F18918W Color Issue
yes that will fit.
there is no software fix for the color, you need a ir corrected lens like the one you linked to in order to correct the color
