f19821w v2....and im tired

Postby begoodfornow77 » Mon Oct 21, 2013 2:56 pm

Forgive my ignorance im a newbie . I just bought a new f19821w v2 from foscam direct after my f19821w v1 crapped out acter 3 mo due to hardware issue. This cam works great over wifi on all my pc s however it is SO LAGGY AND SLOW on my brand new samsung s4. The vers 1 I had worked great on a Samsung s2 while the cam worked but now its skipping every 20-30 secs and then freezes.

Im tired..ive called foscam, netgear and noip. Its so laggy I cant use it for what I bought it for to watch my home when away. Any help would b good.
I have charter internet =30 mbs on a bad day. A netgear n600 dual band router and a noip address. Also have ip cam viewer pro app for android which I think is the issue. I contactex robert. hou who told me to drop the resolution which is stupid cause thats what I paid for was the 720. Thx in advance anyone.

Here recommend you use Foscam own developed APP "Foscam Viewer" to have a try.

Very sorry about that, not sure how I missed that part!!

Have you tried to add a "Generic URL" camera to IP Cam Viewer? I experienced something similar when adding my new Hikvision camera to IP Cam Viewer Pro. When adding a "Hikvision" camera, it was so slow and laggy beyond the point of being able to use it. After adding a Generic URL camera to IP Cam Viewer Pro (with the URL to the camera feed), the camera is flawless.
My Camera's
- Foscam FI8905W
- Foscam FI8918W
- Foscam FI8910W

Hi david...I will try the foscam viewer right now.

Mike...thats no biggie. Like i said im a newbie to all this tech stuff. What would be a good generic url/ ex??.

Im starting to think that these android apps cant handle the 264. comp/720 res. I also uninstalled ip cam viewer pro cause thinkin that the features made the app too complex and in return affected video lag/freeze outs etc. I installed tiny cam, net eye gtv, and ip cam viewer lite and its so hard to determine wether its the connection that day or what. I dont know. I think ill be waiting for a more stable android app in future.
Anybody having serious lag between 10-30 secs of lag with this cam? Please let me know what app your using. thanks EVERYONE. :) BTW. My n600 router is flawless and 12' away from cam inside.

Hi,

sorry for your troubles. Maybe not so many Android users here. One of my Foscams is an FI9821W V2. Works good on an iPhone with the app "LiveCams Pro".
However, first of all I would recommend to check step by step whether the problem is the camera, the network, the router, the Android phone or its app.
For instance: does it work when you access the FI9821W V2 remotely with a PC or Mac? Maybe somebody in your surrounding has an iPhone: does it work?
Very difficult to figure out as long as it isn't clear what exactly generates the problem...

Good luck,

Roland
