General discussion regarding Foscam IP Cameras

So is this a batch file (DOS?) using some LED commands I read recently?

Code: Select all
http://cam IP:port#/decoder_control.cgi?command=95&user=username&pwd=yourpassword

I just tried it in a command prompt window, and http

"isn't recognized as an internal or external command".

Where is a list of CGI (?) commands, and how/where do I use them?

Thanks!

Alan
P.S. you can send email if desired.

Supposing the IP address of the camera = 192.168.2.100, Port = 8080, user = admin and password = left blank then:

Go to Preset position 1 =
Code: Select all
http://192.168.2.100:8080/decoder_control.cgi?command=31&user=admin&pwd=

Go to Preset position 2 =
Code: Select all
http://192.168.2.100:8080/decoder_control.cgi?command=33&user=admin&pwd=

Take snapshot =
Code: Select all
http://192.168.2.100:8080/snapshot.cgi?user=admin&pwd=

Alan,
you can use any of the lines (after suitable modification with your id, etc) for sending to the browser to control the camera. In this way you do "one thing at a time" without my "menu".

I would lικe to have the ability to have the camera switch from one preset location to the next every few minutes.
Please send me a a simple looping batch file to work with it from my pc (imac or vista)

these looping batch files are not hard to write. take a look at:

http://commandwindows.com/batchfiles-branching.htm

it coves the basics and all you will really need.

it would be worth your time to learn the basics of the batch language so you can modify and add functions. it's really not a complex language.

Code: Select all
goto http://x.x.x.x:x/decoder_control.cgi?command=31/user=admin/pwd=xxx
delay=30
goto http://x.x.x.x:x/decoder_control.cgi?command=33/user=admin/pwd=xxx

Here is a simple html/javascript page,
EasyCamPic
that determine an FI8918W to move its head automatically from preset position to preset position and take pictures.

Simply adjust the Delay parameter to 1000*60 = 60 000 ms and set Order = 123123123 and the camera will take a picture each minute changing each time from one preset place to the next.

It is not 100% what you want but, at least for the first 9 minutes, the EasyCamPic will switch from one preset location to the next.
