Hi,

may be I am wrong, but:
I did not find any possibility in this freeware Cam Viewer Pro which allows to setup a port for the ip camera. That means the origin port 80 is mandatory to connect to an ip camera.
The F1-help shows only the ip-adress for setup, but no port :(.
Even worse: if you check the checkbox "allow camera removal on disconnect" this results in an endless loop of connection retries. This loop cant be interrupted, I need to deinstall and reinstall the software to fix this, because camera removal is also impossible now :!: .

Seems to be coded very carefully ;) .

Hi,
I have 3 foscam 18904w ip working with this software.
I did not find any possibility in this freeware Cam Viewer Pro which allows to setup a port for the ip camera. That means the origin port 80 is mandatory to connect to an ip camera.
wrong: the given port 80 is when you setup the web server for internet viewing)

for successful camera adding:
1. when you add a new camera, first check "ip camera" box, also give it the name you want. Important: uncheck "allow camera disconnect message"
2. complete other settings: camera make = foscam, User Name = cameras user name, Password= cameras pw or blank if no pw, Camera URL, enter egg= http://192.168.2.100:8080 ( 8080 is the port I use for my cam)
3. now click on "apply" & "ok"
4. You should see the added camera icon at the left, now on the upper tool bar, click on 1x1 view if you have only one camera, or 2x2 if you have more than one, you should see the camera now.
if you see a black screen, just drag the camera icon in the display window.
5. To setup recording and other settings for your camera, right click on the cam icon.

PS. This loop cant be interrupted
yes, I also had the same problem first. Try to close / restart the program remove the camera & and add camera as showed above.

If you do not want to record your camera, the foscam software is fine. I like this soft for the recording and playback futures, I did not find other freeware with simple playback options like this one, for playback viewing, just choose the cam, the day, the hour, click on it and the video is playing. Very simple too for disk space managment, simply set the number of days you want to keep your recordings.

The web server is not a big deal, it is simple because you can see it from any device with internet access, do not need activeX or software installation, but is very basic.

That was exactly what I did, but I always received an error message "camera is unplugged or connection timeout". Thats why I guess that the port will not be recognized. I have remote access to my cams from home lan and via internet with any browser and checked also the foscam sw and the demo version of webcamxp/webcam 7. With no other sw I have trouble in connecting the cams, but this tool is not able to connect to the cams, for what reason ever.

It can :D , but you need to be quick. Choose remove camera, mark the desired cam and click remove, than the loop stops.
And dont be worry about the error messages you have to confirm during the whole procedure, they cant be suppressed  .

During my first trials I did not mark the camera, because it was only one camera configured and it was not clear that you need to mark the icon to remove it.

Hi,

what port do your cams use ?, mine are on 8080-8081-8082 for my 3 cams
in the camera url, for my first camera I simply put http://192.168.2.100:8080
( use the same user name & pw as with foscam sw) and I got the connection on the first try.

when I want to connect by the camera viewer pro web server,
on the local Network http://192.168.2.100:80
on internet http://myname.dyndns.org:80
see all 3 cameras

when i use the for foscam sw,
local Network http://192.168.2.100:8080
on internet http://myname.dyndns.org:8080
