FW V-2.x.1.116-20141020 bugs and errors!

Postby Minglarn » Thu Oct 23, 2014 10:45 am

This is my FI9831W with the latest FW installed. The recordings are saved to a FTP server on my local network.

In video settings the VBR is set to NO but the image gets low quality and extremely blurry.

Watch this clip: http://youtu.be/gSBz5mknYhU

This happens in the WEB UI and in the RTSP stream. T
e picture gets blurry and then it comes back in full and slowly degrees to about 95kb/s...

It is just me or does this happen to other users?

System Firmware Version 1.4.1.10
Application Firmware Version 2.11.1.116
Plug-In Version 3.1.0.5

Hopy crap, that is awful! I would see if you can downgrade to the prior version. The latest firmware seems to have a ton of problems and bugs. I would HIGHLY recommend users DONT upgrade if their camera(s) is working fine. I have not heard of anyone upgrading without some kind of problem.

FOSCAM WHY DO YOU RELEASE FIRMWARE WITHOUT TESTING???

Hello Minglarn,

Does this issue happen all the time after you upgraded to the 116 firmware?
This is an alarm record, isn't it?

Can you test your upload speed in your current network?
www.speedtest.net

If you do a manaul record, is it the same?

Hi Foscam, don't know why a speedtest.com would accomplish any good as my WiFi speed is more than good.

However, today I changed the settings to "SAVE TO SD CARD" and the recordings where the same as before. This bothers me a lot, as now there is NO WiFi nor LAN traffic is involved.

I'll try to RESET the cam to factory settings from the pinhole beneath the cam.

Will return with the results.

Well, did some testing and ended up with same results. Even IF I record directly to SD card it still looses bitrate in video recordings...

These clips is taken directly from SD card.
And this really sucks... Resolve this issue ASAP please...

And it does not matter if I set the BitRate to VBR to YES no NO...

Update!

Been testing and testing and....

I used the "User Defined" and altered it for my needs.
Now I use the HD Mode and have altered it for my needs and it works.

HD Mode:
Stream Type HD Mode
Resolution 960p
Bit Rate 4
Frame Rate 25
Key Frame Interval 30
Variable bitrate YES

So far the video is as it should bee. No blurriness or pixel distortion yet!

Please try this:

resolution-for-the-expired-plug-in-certificate-issue-t10816.html#p52134

The above will force-install the plugins for Windows systems for IE, Chrome and Firefox.

Please remove all the plugins in the "Program and Feature" in "Control Panel", the camera will prompt you to load the plugin when you login next time.
