Just FYI...

The 2.0 update was approved. I started a new thread for it describing the new features.

Hello,
This is a really great app from a usability standpoint.

But I have ongoing problems with the audio (from camera to ipad). After some period of time where the audio appears to work okay, it becomes a loud buzzing noise; I have to turn off the audio. Sometimes stopping and restarting the app helps, but then the buzzing returns.

I am using wired (not wi-fi) LAN access to the camera, have the same issue with WAN and also when I tried enabling wi-fi. So it doesn't appear to be antenna-related as suggested in another post.

I do NOT have the same audio problem when using LiveCams Pro to listen to the audio. I like this app better than LiveCams Pro (more user-friendly and specific to my needs). But at the moment Foscam Pro is unusable for me. The fact that it works well with LiveCams Pro suggests to me it is a software glitch rather than a problem with my set up or a hardware issue.

This is a shame especially because I paid about $6 for Foscam Pro and LiveCams Pro was only 99 cents.

Please advise if this problem is going to be fixed anytime soon.

Thank you

Did you update to 2.0?
foscam-pro-2-0-for-iphone-ipad-just-released-t2172.html

It took care of a lot of the audio issues. Shouldn't be possible for buzzing to occur with 2.0 as it returns silence when there is any type of audio delay or hiccup.

I would like to add my comments.
I donwloaded and used this app. It seems very good, all basic functions are there, with some "plus" that differentiate from other similar app.

I have one suggestion, even if I don't know how much is feasable (or easy) to implement. Scrolling cams is good, but.... having a fixed layout is sometimes better to see them all in a screen (or in a couple of screens). This is , for example, what LiveCam Pro does.

Now, what I would like to add, is the possibility to have a fixed layout (I mean: 4 cam per screen, scrolling from one screen to another, or 9 cams, or 6, etc.), but "customizable". Putting 9 cams on a screen is relatively easy. Put 6 is easy too. But suppose you have 7 cams, and want to display 6 small cams plus one in a bigger box... Do you know what I mean? I would like to have the possibility to "design" my own layout, choosing to have bigger or smaller frames where to put cameras.

And I do believe that this feature could be very useful for lots of users...

Pls let me have your feedback on it. Thx !

Ya. I like that idea a lot and have actually been putting a lot of thought into it. I was wanting to implement a customizable view that the user could choose primary and secondary cameras and they could touch and drag the cameras around to the spots they wanted and they would resize based on space available. I think that would be an incredibly intuitive interface....yet... I haven't been able to figure out how to do it yet. I made up some prototypes, but none were easily understandable by my testers. If I can get it working in an easy to understand manner, I will definitely implement it.

John
I think I've found a glitch in the new software, everytime I go to one of my 8910 cameras, it wants to go to the default position. It didn't do this before I upgraded to the new version, other than that, I love the program.

Hi John,

I have another big improvements to suggest , other then the previous one (hi-new-app-foscam-pro-two-way-audio-and-vid-recording-t1994-60.html#p9407). I think this second is much more easy to implement; don't know if it has been already suggested by someoneelse previously, anyway.....

Basically what I need, is to switch on and off with a click all cameras simultaneously. It happen, lots of times, that you arrive home earlier than planned time (and the camera start sending emails because of motion detect....) or you leave home before scheduled time (and you can loose important "motions".....). So why don't you simply put two buttons on the very first page: "switch all on", "switch all off".

You can tick / untick "send email" flag and adjust schedule. This is basically an override respect to pre-defined schedule (that of course need to be saved before overriding it, to later restore it). Nobody cares about motion detect in log, but of course getting inbox lots of crap emails will make people upset.....

This suggestion and the previous one (customizable layouts) are two improvements that none of your direct "competitors" (Live Cam Pro, etc.) developed yet.

Pls let me know what do you think about this

Hello John,

Big fan of the app so far and havent had any problems crop up but was wondering if you'll ever modify the software to keep it from turning off the background music player whenever you switch into a specific camera feed (regardless if the 2way mic is on or off). I tend to listen to podcasts during the day at work with the multi camera view display on, but it tends to get annoying having to restart the itunes audio player every time i switch in and out of a direct specific camera feed. Any kind of toggle switch maybe to allow/disallow Foscam app to take hold of audio channel in direct camera stream feed mode.

Thanks!
