Foscam C2 Motion detection erratic

Postby IanTurner » Fri Feb 09, 2018 11:54 am

Hello,
I have just bought Foscam C2 V3, and have updated to latest firmware.
System Firmware 1.11.1.10
Application Firmware 2.72.1.54
Plug in 3.3.0.31
All works fine, apart from the Motion Detection.
I have it in an unused room, behind glass pointing at the drive and garden and the road and pavement.
I have selected the garden and drive in the detection zones.
So far it records people walking in the distance, cars on the road, random intervals throughout the night with cars on the road or no cars.
But as yet it has NEVER recorded the daily activity on the drive of cars and people coming and going.
Last night it recorded 150 clips some with cars driving past -out of the detection area, and other clips with no movement whatsoever. But at about 6:50 it stopped recording anything, and ignored the cars coming on and off the drive right in the centre of the detection zones!

I notice I am not the only one to have this kind of problem. I see posts going back to 2015.
It is a problem with the PIR? What is the purpose of PIR - you can't select the detection zones with PIR detection. Can PIR be disabled?
Is there any "fix" for this problem.
Thanks for your help,
Ian
