Wide Angle lens for FI8905W?

Does anyone have any updates as to what wide angle lens will actually work without any problems?

I found one from ragecams but it is $50.00

I'm wondering the same thing, read all 9 pages and now I'm more confused. This one works, this one doesn't, this one won't focus, this one will.
I just got my 8905, it appears to have IR cut filter as my trees & grass are green by day, but I'd like to widen the view up a bit, so I'm hoping a 4mm might be enough.

Pete did you get that 6pk? Did anything work well?
Does anyone have before/after pics after going wideangle?

the one I bought on ebay works fine with the older 8905 without the ir cut filter. as for lenses for the newer ones with the filter, you are on your own (for now).

the lenses are cheap enough, so pick up one and try it out. worst case is your out a couple of bucks and some time. either way you can provide feedback to our community.

I'm new to cameras completly, so since the newer 905's have IR cut, does the lens also need to be IR?

Another thought process, but given the cost of some lenses probably not woth it; but I just saw some youyube videos of adding a telephoto or wideangle lens to a Flip camera by supergluing a ring around the lens then screwing on a lens. I just ordered a 2x telephoto/.5x wide angle lens combo to do this to my flip. And holding the wideangle up to my 905 gives me the shot I want. So questions: 1) would this be feesiable to do (ie superglue a 37mm adapter ring to the glass) and 2) is a 4mm going to be about the same width I saw with the .5x wide angle I held up?

I have an agasio with the ir-cut filter and asked the same question about needing an ir lens on their forum but never got an answer. I did buy a new ir lens for it and it seemed to work ok, however I switched back to the original lens because it has a slighter wider fov.

You can tell if the original lens is ir just by looking at it. the glass that faces the sensor will have either a film glued over it or has a blueish/purpleish tinted coating. my original agasio lens had this tint.

I think that 904 and 905 serve their own purposes. If you want the wide angled lens then just get the 904. It's like 10 dollars cheaper.

Well I finally took the risk & bought the "1/3 Inch 4mm IR F1.2 Fixed Iris CS Mount Lens" from monoprice via Amazon, and glad I did.

I did have to adjust the focus; obviously. I think I could tweek it a bit more as the edges are still a bit blury; but so far seems to be what I needed.

Well I finally took the risk & bought the "1/3 Inch 4mm IR F1.2 Fixed Iris CS Mount Lens" from monoprice via Amazon, and glad I did.

I bought the same one and I'm pleased, it does just what I want. I'm using it in a close up situation, nothing further than 2 meters, so I don't know how it is for long distance or night use.

I also bought the Foscam 3.6mm (67°) Lens for FI8904W, but I couldn't get it to focus; it seems that it has to screw in further than the threads allow to reach the focal point. It came without any instructions or any paperwork for that matter, just a lens wrapped in a piece of bubble pack, inside a priority mail padded envelope.

It appears they have discontinued that lens, I no longer see it on the website.
Strangely enough, they now show a 3.6mm (37°) Lens for FI8904W. I wonder if the 67° was a typo, since both are shown as 3.6mm, or if it's a different lens.

I have one of the 1/3 Inch 4mm IR F1.2 Fixed Iris CS Mount Lens from Monoprice and I can not get it close enough to focus. What could be the problem? I have to say I am getting frustrated. The orginal lens 8mm is useless and I bought this new one since several said it works great. I have the internal ring that the lense screws into screwed in as far as it will go. Then screwed in the new lens assembly as far and can not get it to focus. The screw on the side is removed so I know it is moving. Any tips or is this a bust?

In addition to my trying the 4mm lens I ordered from dealextreme 2.8mm~16mm Fixed IRIS Lens Set for Webcams and Security/CCTV Cameras (6-Lens Pack) What was I thinking? These screw in lenses do not even work with the lense in the 8905. Where do they fit? They screw into a lens housing but these on the 8905 do not have threads for the center of the lens housing unless of course I am not seeing it. Please inform me what these work with.

Found two plug and play 4.1mm and 2.8mm lens that work very well with my F19805W cameras.

After simply removing the original 6mm lens that came with the camera and replacing it with either of the lens below, depending upon the viewing area requirements, all that was required was to focus the new lens (slight turning) and the camera / lens combination worked perfectly (no night vision issues, special mods, etc..) required. The lens cost between $10 - $14 on line. This was too easy, I am not sure why FOSCAM does not sell these lens as options for the F18905W camera.
