Foscam FI8919W is great Review by Richard Wolfe

The Foscam FI8919W works very well and is relatively easy to set up. I bought this to monitor the inside of my mom's house in case she falls. The pan and tilt feature gives a great range of viewing. I had to download a third party app for my Android phone (Foscam Viewer Lite) to make it work on my phone and it works great. The night vision feature works well also. Highly recommend. Very Impressive Review by PDub

Really slick camera. I bought this to act as a baby cam in our nursery. The camera was very easy to set up (although the wifi config is a little goofy), and once configured it works like a charm. I'm able to monitor my child at night or daytime, control it (tilt/pan) all from my iPhone and iPad. Hands down a great purchase. (Posted on 6/16/12)
Great camera for a great price Review by D. Sokol

I bought a single FI8910W to test it out and then followed up with a two cam bundle. II tried everything from TrendNet to Panasonic and other, less known brands. Panasonics are great, but way too expensive. Foscam does everything I need it to do for a fraction of the price. I am also planning on getting their exterior cameras as well. Easy to set up and use, they come with mounting hardware. I use all my cameras in the house (4) via a wireless connection and never an issue in speed or reliabily. One issue that I am noticing is that once in a while the camera will reset itself and I find it pointing up in he ceiling. Fortunately their iPod/iPad/iPhone software is great and I can point the camera where I need from anywhere in the world. Don't get me wrong, these are not the best cameras on he market and I am hesitant to give any product 5 stars, but for the price, you simply cannot do any better. (Posted on 6/16/12)
Awesome Camera Review by Carl

You can't beat this camera for the money. This thing is my new favorite toy. I can't stop playing with it. Got a little frustrated in the begining setting it up on Internet Eexplorer so I could view from the web but once I found what I had to check off in the internet tools menu it worked great. Love how it sends you an email when it detects motion and uploads a short video clip to a folder on your PC. I was blown away with the night vision too. I just bought another one. (Outdoor model). Have the FI8910W in my garage 80 ft. from the router in the house and it picks it up fine. One more and I should have my whole property covered. Best hundred bucks I ever spent. (Posted on 6/16/12)
Great little camera once you get it set up Review by Gregory Cremer

I would give this product 5 stars where it not for the difficult setup. I was able to figure out how to connect it to wifi from the instructions. That part is very straight forward, and the supplied software worked perfectly on my MacBook pro running osx lion and airport extreme. The difficult part comes in setting up remote capabilities for viewing from iPhone or other remote device. The directions speak of getting free DDNS service at dyndns.com for a free host name. The site no longer offers free host name services and there have been enough complaints about this for long enough that I believe the folks at Foscam are just ignoring the consumer on this subject. The manual is obviously translated from an Asian dialect to English as the verbiage is oddly worded. Other than the issues with setup, I have to say that the device and remote applications are quite good. I am able to view, control and listen remotely. From iPhone, iPad, and by web. Listening via Mac and Firefox is not possible. I will also note that though I am able to speak remotely, this function often comes through very garbled. Not sure why as the listen function works very well. Listening was most important to me as I use the webcam to monitor my Yorkie pup while I am away. I can watch and listen on my iPhone while driving (I mostly just listen) and it works quite well. As a side note, I mounted my camera on the wall just above my grandfather clock and this has proven to be a very good location. The clock provides a constant tick-tock sound that ensures me that the audio is functioning.
I am using the "Foscam pro" app on my iPhone and iPad. It really works well and was worth the $4.99. All functions are easily set up. I also use "cam viewer" which was free, but lacks functionality. (Posted on 6/16/12)
Works Great And Affordable! Review by Cave Wyatt

This little thing is terrific. Note that even though you may ADD both a microphone and speakers, it does not COME with them. I guess my eyes saw something different in the item description because I had a moment of disappointment when I saw it only had input/output for both. Then I realized that for the price I paid it couldn't have these features built in. Ah, well. Anyway, what works, works GREAT! Communication must not be my strong suit because I did have to call to get it operating. Note that Mac owners have to push the second Login button. I guess my brain couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing.

Anyway, you have full remote control over where the camera points, the picture is pretty good and you can take snapshots from it. Pertty nice for the price! (Posted on 6/16/12)
Very Nice Unit Review by Los Angeles, CA

Amazing picture quality (even at night with the IR) and fairly easy to setup with the supplied software. Only thing I can think that could be improved is making the sticker with the WiFi MAC address larger and telling you where to find it in the docs (I use MAC auth on my WiFi). Overall I'm very impressed and would definitely by Foscam again. (Posted on 6/16/12)
Camera Appears Ok Review by Joseph Barnhart

I would like to have a more in-depth review but here goes. If you have a little IT knowledge this camera should fairly straight forward in setting up. NOTE: Do not use the software on a windows 7 computer as it could mess it up as it did mine. Wouldn't boot to desktop at all. Foscam technically owes me a new system. Preferable install only if you have to on a windows xp machine. Use software at your own risk.

Otherwise the camera was about what I was expecting. The one feature I like most is the ability to turn off the IR night vision feature. I have mine setting behind a window and it reflects off the glass thereby voiding any use of night vision for me personally. I am sure it works quite ok otherwise. If you search youtube with the model number there are videos that have example test footage posted to preview that option.

So far it works quite well I am still getting it situated. I've been able to set it to my IP address of choice and its own port number. I've set it up where I can view it via the ip address on any system including my Android Tablet using Foscam Viewer Light app which works quite well. I've also port forwarded my ip address and set up my own personal url shortner so I can access it anywhere on the web. Currently have a system running the Ispy Connect Software as a 24/7 DVR if need be. Still trying to sort through this one and will be looking for other options. Feel free to comment if you know of any free cctv software the simply works.

Overall I'd say get it. It does what I was hoping for and then some. If your able as mentioned avoid using the software and especially on Windows 7 and at your own risk. Hopefully I'll get around to putting up a video review at some point. (Posted on 6/16/12)
an average good camera Review by kal

after looking through a dozen of surveillance camera, from 500$ to 60$ , i decide to go with this version 8910W
just because, it went through few upgrades, color correction, and night vision.
it is not a bad camera, for the price and the functions, the resolution could be better, however it is a surveillance camera, not a camcorder,
the installation was not as bad as i was expecting, took me about 1 1/2 hour, to get both wire and wireless, to work
and accessing it on line using DYNDNS .
i do recommend this camera for anyone whom got tired looking through all what's out there.
this camera can do all that, the night vision works perfect, i can access it from my work, and look around with out issues.
FOSCAM need to work on the software part, it can be better than it looks now. (Posted on 6/16/12)
Great Camera, Great Value Review by akakpaws

I am very pleased with this camera. It provides a very good image day and night. The windows app provides extensive control of the unit and it is very responsive to control inputs over wifi or the Live Cam Pro App for Ipad. The IR mode provides a surprisingly good image in total darkness.

I did have some difficulty getting things going online and on the IPad app. I am not real familiar with a lot of the procedures and terminology required for online access setup. So it took me a few days to get things going. It was a learning experience for me. I had a couple of setbacks when I rebooted the camera. As I understand it the camera generates a new address each time it reboots, which then requires updating the original setup. So I am trying to avoid rebooting. Otherwise I am very satisfied with this purchase. It is great to be able to monitor things at home from anyplace I can access the internet! (Posted on 6/16/12)
