Great camera and great company to work with Review by Miami

Camera works great. The night vision is amazing and this camera blows the competition out of the water for half the price. They even got me a great deal on a 2nd camera.

Don't worry if you don't know how to install it. It comes with a really handy follow along video and I was controlling the camera with my tablet in no time. Thanks Foscam! (Posted on 6/16/12)
Good Camera for Price Review by Bham

I recently purchased this camera after scouring the internet to understand the best way to install it.The camera interface is relatively easy to use. The construction is plastic, but I don't feel it is too cheap. The camera view is not bad either although the backdrop of a sunny window overwhelms the camera. I set it up on an Mac and had a couple of minor issues. If you have Lion OS, then google "install baby cam lion" and click the link to wifibaby website. The new Lion OS does not have the same airport express interface as the older OS's. I did use the install disk to find the camera, then I followed the directions on the website to port forward the camera for remote use. So far so good. I do not have a static IP address, but my current address has not changed in a while. I also use IP Cam Viewer which cost about three bucks for my iPhone and iPad. The only negative is that the camera kind of freaks out my wife. She thinks I am watching her eat breakfast every morning. In fact, she will throw a towel over it because she doesn't like it "staring" at her. The camera website needs to update their install information for Lion users. Other than that, I have no issues. Baby Monitor Killer Review by Zoltomar Starfire

My wife and I were this -><- close to pulling the plug on a baby monitor at a local store. I really didn't like what was offered, anything under $180 is junk and even then you're stuck with camera + THEIR viewing monitor (TINY TINY TINY unless you shell out big bucks for a 3.5" screen...I'm using an iPad with this sucker).
Setting up the camera was easy until I got to the part where you unplug the ethernet cable so you can use it wireless. They had a clear enough help guide on their website for the port forwarding setup so that was only a minor hitch, it took 1 min to go through the guide.
CD comes with windows and mac software as well as an app for your phone...iphone/ipad will require an itunes download.

Picture quality = awesome.
Nighttime picture quality = awesomely creepy how clear it is.
Audio = well...you'll sound like a tiny person trying to escape from a tiny camera. There are 1/8" in/out jacks on the back of the camera if you really wanted to go the full route, we just wanted the visual features.

Look at the features this camera offers and find a "baby monitor" that offers the same...now compare the prices. See how easy that was? (Posted on 6/16/12)
Excellent camera at a good price, works just fine with Mac and Firefox Review by Techno Nerd

This is my second Foscam, my first is the model immediately preceding this one. Both were quick and easy to set up.

I used Firefox on a Mac to do the setup. It works fine. You don't need to use the CD that comes with the camera at all.

Login to your router and bring up the list of DHCP clients. Hook the camera up to your router (mine is a D-Link DIR-655) and plug in the power. The camera is set up by default to use DHCP, so it will shortly appear in the router's list of clients. Make a note of that IP address, then open a new browser window and browse to the camera's IP. You'll get the camera's built-in web server. Firefox users need to be sure to select server push mode. Default login is username "admin" with no password. From there you can complete the setup, including changing to a static IP and getting it talking to your wireless. My wireless uses WPA2/AES security and the camera connected to it as soon as I saved the configuration settings.

It took less than five minutes from opening the box to having it up and running on my wireless network.

Please don't be put off by negative reviews written by people who lack even the tiny bit of technical knowledge needed to set up and configure this great little camera. (Posted on 6/16/12)
Good all-around IP cam Review by MFR2VCB

Compared to the FI8918W, the color quality is better. I setup my camera to work with sensr.net which allows me to automatically upload images to their site via FTP which in my situation works perfectly because the satellite internet connection is too slow to support live video. (Posted on 6/16/12)
more than I expected Review by Corey H. Perez

This is the first time I bought this foscam product , let me give you the pros and cons . Pros: 1) it has some real beautiful features for a low price like this , I feel much more comfortable at work knowing that with a click of a button I know what's going on in my house 2) The picture quality on the camera is nice and clear and the IR cut filter makes it even better where I don't have to adjust it manually by night in the dark 3) Once the camera is set up it is very user friendly , to pan and tilt it remotely etc . Cons: To set up port forwarding is something that if you are not so computer savvy you will have to read the instructions of the foscam website very carefully , and it may take some time , but after I got it to work I'm very excited about it , I'm planning to buy 2 more one indoor and one outdoor (Posted on 6/16/12)
Best Value Wireless IP Camera Review by Dreary Ohio

This camera, and the company itself, clearly has some shortcomings. However, at this price you'll be content, if not ecstatic. It works well as a security camera and baby monitor. After using it for 1 week I've bought 2 more. (Posted on 6/16/12)
Great inexpensive security cam Review by Roger H Gray

The Foscam F18910W camera is operating quite well. I have 3 F18918W cameras and have been pleased with their operation and function as well. They are very stable cameras - images always available whenever I link to them- and easy to set up.

For setup, I have found it easier to just plug them in using the Ethernet connection, and then log into my router and find their IP address, and set them up from there. The only thing you have to remember during setup is that the new camera's port may be set the same as an existing camera. In this case either shut down any existing cameras, or use the FosCam install software and let it find the new camera and port number.

I have the FosCams mounted in our business for security and their range of motion and quality of images- including infrared- has been invaluable. Also the sound quality is good from the camera. Talking through the cameras to someone is weak, but there. I am replacing older D-Link DCS-900 cameras which are fixed position only provide picture- no sound or two-way communication capabilities.

One feature that would be good in my case would be the ability to zoom in on an object. Zoom is not a function of any of the FosCam models I now have.

I monitor the cameras from my IPad, my Droid 2 and 3 phones using an excellent app - IP Cam Viewer from Robert Chou. I also use IE and Chrome browsers.

You do have to use port forwarding on your router so you can find the cameras via your business/home location's IP address. If you don't have a static IP address, you can use dyndns.org to track your dynamic IP address. (Posted on 6/16/12)
