Foscam FI8910W (White) Wireless B/G/N IP Camera

Product Review (submitted on June 16, 2012):
I would give this product 5 stars where it not for the difficult setup. I was able to figure out how to connect it to wifi from the instructions. That part is very straight forward, and the supplied software worked perfectly on my MacBook pro running osx lion and airport extreme. The difficult part comes in setting up remote capabilities for viewing from iPhone or other remote device. The directions speak of getting free DDNS service at dyndns.com for a free host name. The site no longer offers free host name services and there have been enough complaints about this for long enough that I believe the folks at Foscam are just ignoring the consumer on this subject. The manual is obviously translated from an Asian dialect to English as the verbiage is oddly worded. Other than the issues with setup, I have to say that the device and remote applications are quite good. I am able to view, control and listen remotely. From iPhone, iPad, and by web. Listening via Mac and Firefox is not possible. I will also note that though I am able to speak remotely, this function often comes through very garbled. Not sure why as the listen function works very well. Listening was most important to me as I use the webcam to monitor my Yorkie pup while I am away. I can watch and listen on my iPhone while driving (I mostly just listen) and it works quite well. As a side note, I mounted my camera on the wall just above my grandfather clock and this has proven to be a very good location. The clock provides a constant tick-tock sound that ensures me that the audio is functioning.
I am using the "Foscam pro" app on my iPhone and iPad. It really works well and was worth the $4.99. All functions are easily set up. I also use "cam viewer" which was free, but lacks functionality.
